Senator Patty Murray Needs to Hear from YOU!

The U.S. Congress is preparing to decide on its final budget.  The House version contains massive cuts to Medicaid programs that are important to people with disabilities.  The Senate version is not nearly so drastic.

Our own Senator Patty Murray has been named to the "conference" committee that will work out the differences between the two budgets.  NOW is the time to call or e-mail Senator Murray and let her know how important a strong Medicaid program is for people with disabilities.

You may want to ask Senator Murray to do:

·Vote No on cost-sharing and third-party liability provisions in Medicaid

·Vote No on exclusion of Medicaid funding for targeted case management where another program might be liable to pay

·Vote No on across-the-board budget cuts that will deny services to needy children and families

You can reach Senator Murray by dialing the Capital switchboard on this toll-free number provided by the American Friends Service Committee - 1-800-426-8073.  Ask to be connected to Senator Murray's office.  If you prefer to e-mail, go to Senator Murray's website at:
